Each February, for four days, the world comes together for the love of birds. The event is called the Great Backyard Bird Count, sponsored by Cornell Lab of Ornithology, National Audubon Society and Birds Canada.
Over these four days people spend time in their favorite places watching and counting as many birds as they can find and reporting them on the GBBC website. These observations help scientists better understand global bird populations before their annual migrations. Whether you are an experienced birder or just starting out, get outside in your own backyard wherever you are or explore some of Provincetown's bird habitats including Hatches Harbor, Beech Forest, Foss Woods, Clapps Pond, or MacMillan Wharf!
