Mary Louise (ML) Bell

Secretary

Mary Lou (ML) Bell is the newest addition to the Provincetown Conservation Trust Board of Trustees, joining in May 2024. ML learned about the PCT by participating in one of our Nature Walks, after which she became an immediate PCT supporter, both through donations and volunteering. Over the last several years, ML’s efforts have expanded to include being one of our land stewards, participating in our Earth Day projects, joining in our sessions to remove invasive plants, and staffing our Annual Meetings. Last year ML volunteered to help with our PCT database, and now records donations and manages our constituent information.

As part of her Board responsibilities, ML volunteered to serve as Secretary. Prior to her retirement, ML spent 30+ years in leadership positions in small/medium biotech and large pharma, focusing on portfolio and program management, alliance management, and drug development/registration for cutting-edge biologics and drugs. “When my spouse Jane introduced me to Provincetown several decades ago, I fell in love with the National Seashore but had limited time to explore beyond it. Now in retirement that love extends to the other Provincetown green spaces we all share. My professional life was focused on leading teams that succeeded in developing and registering innovative treatments that make a meaningful difference for patients, their families, and their clinicians. My efforts with PCT give me the opportunity to continue to make a difference by contributing to our mission to preserve and protect our natural environment so that all of us -- residents and visitors -- can enjoy this beautiful part of the world now and for generations to come.”.
