PCT Receives Waterfront Land Donation
Thanks to a very generous land donor, as of last week the PCT now owns a piece of Provincetown's waterfront! The 2.25-acre parcel of grassy dune and beach is situated in the East End at 1 Winston Ave and includes frontage on Provincetown Bay.
Numerous species of shorebirds frequent this area throughout the year and waterfowl and marine life can be spotted from the beach. The donor of this parcel shares the PCT's passion for land preservation, particularly of sensitive habitats, and we are so honored to become the new stewards. We look forward to realizing the potential of this property for nature studies, habitat preservation, wildlife viewing events, and other eco-programming. The PCT will keep you abreast of plans for this newly protected area in the near future so please stay tuned!
The area is easily reached from the Town's access path at Winston Avenue in the East End
The parcel is comprised of beach and dune grass which provides erosion and flood protection along with habitats for some shorebirds.
