Join the PCT in Voting Green at the 2025 Provincetown Town Meeting on April 7th
ARTICLE 13
The PCT supports article 13 where the Provincetown Community Preservation Committee recommends grant funding based on the following categories: Housing, Historic Preservation, and Open Space/Recreation. This year the CPC is recommending $95,000 toward the purchase of the .64 acre property at 43 Atkins Mayo Road for conservation. The forested parcel is adjacent to other protected properties along the Provincetown Greenway.
article 25
The PCT supports Article 25 that would ban the use of Second-generation anticoagulant rodenticides (SGARs) in Provincetown. SGARs are commonly used to kill rats and rodents. Anticoagulant rodenticides are dangerous toxicants that prevent blood from clotting, causing death due to massive hemorrhaging hours or even days after ingestion. Poisoned rodents return to the environment, where they may be eaten by predators who then also become sick and die. This secondary poisoning has been documented in many areas, including Cape Cod, where birds, coyotes, and dogs have been affected.
ARTICLE 26
The PCT supports Article 26 which establishes 61-R Howland Street as park, passive recreation and conservation land and transfers the .34 acres under the care and custody of the Conservation Commission. This town-owned parcel is 80% wetland, and abuts PCT conservation property along the entrance to Old Colony Nature Pathway, which is a designated area for rare and endangered species under the Natural Heritage and Endangered Species program..
