Conservation Land 8 (36 Ice House Road)
Property Description
This 3.19 acre parcel was donated to the Provincetown Conservation Trust in May 1992 by Ruth E. Hiebert. The property makes up the important Shankpainter Wildlife Santuary, which include several ponds and one of the only quaking bogs found within a barrier beach.
Fauna and Flora
Plants: Dragon's mouth orchid, Pink lady slipper, pitcher plant, Golden club, Bogbean, Grass Pink, Few fruited sedge.
Animals, fish and birds: River otter, Easter spadefoot toad, spotted and box turtles, large and smallmouth bass, pickerel, Redwinged blackbirds, warblers, ducks, hawks herons and ospreys.
