Conservation Land 4 (92 Atkins Mayo Road) 

This parcel abuts the Old Colony Nature Pathway as well as the newly conserved 88 and 86-R Atkins Mayo Road parcels.

 

Property Description

This .24-acre Maple Swamp was donated in May 1998 by Robert and Rebecca Patterson. This land borders the Old Colony Trail. 

 

Fauna and Flora

The area is full of Cape Cod scrub pine, white pine, birch, oak, and of course maple trees. Visitors to the site will also find swamp azaleas and lady slippers.

 

Animals found here

Animals recorded here have included, Red Tail Hawks, Long-earred Owls, and a variety of migratory birds including Rusty Blackbird, Red-Throated Warbler and Townsend’s Warbler.
